It’s the holiday season, which means that millions of people are scouring the mall and the internet in search of the “perfect gift.” Often, though, a gift that seems perfect for someone else can be less-than-perfect for the planet, or for the people who made it. I do my best to shop ethically more often than not (you can read about why I do that here), and I’m focusing on making sustainable and conscious choices even more now that I will be moving into my own home this January. With the holiday season in full-swing, I want to make sure that my gift guides include ethical gift guides, for those of you who want to make similar choices. Today, I’ll be featuring some eco-friendly and fair trade gifts for the “hers” in your life (girlfriend, best friend, roommate, mom) in this ethical gift guide.
I hope you’re having a wonderful time together with your boyfriend right now! It was so lovely to read all about the things you’re grateful for, not just in your most recent blog post but also on your Instagram all month long. Your posts always make my day!
I’m having a great time at home right now. Unfortunately, tomorrow I really have to get to work on my academic due dates; I have a proposal, an essay, and a big chunk of a manuscript due this week! As I was putting together my calendar of due dates and schedules for the month, I saw that this is one of my last Love and Liefs posts of the semester! Hey friends! I think it’s officially the time of year when I can wish you happy holidays! Though Thanksgiving was just a few days ago, I’m an early planner, so I’ve been shopping for my gifts and Christmas cards for the last few weeks. Today I’m sharing a few of my favorites from Minted’s holiday line, and giving two of you the chance to win $125 at Minted!
The last six months have been some of the most incredible and surprising of my life. Since May, I’ve traveled to cities around the country, met my role models, become an American citizen, bought an apartment with my boyfriend in Europe, and written two books. Today, I’m sharing this slice of my life and lessons with you!
Ken and I hadn’t seen each other since March. We celebrated our four-year anniversary together during my spring break, and then thanks to my summer job and final semester of college, we did eight straight months of long distance. When it turned out he had a conference in Seattle this weekend, we decided to splurge and fly me out to see him. We’ve spent the last week in Seattle together, happy and in love!
