Routines and Celebrations // Love and Liefs

Dear Shannon,

Happy belated birthday! I’m so glad you had such an amazing day. I love seeing your beautiful photos, and getting to experience touches of your Amsterdam travels with you.

Here at Wellesley, things are starting to settle into a routine. I’m getting used to my class schedule and my commitments, though I have to admit that the transition from a “do-what-you-want summer” to a busy semester is a little rough! I have a bunch of assignments and readings due for next week and am not loving that part of being back at school!

Excited to start my last semester at @wellesleycollege today! Happy first day of classes!

So far, my favorite part of being back at Wellesley is spending time with my friends. I live in a really tight-knit dorm community with tons of friends on my floor, and we get to hang out every day over meals, at programs, and at fun events. Sometimes it’s casual and impromptu, like crafting and sharing funny stories with my closest friends a few days ago. Sometimes it’s more structured, like campus celebrations: we recently had Convocation, and last weekend I went to the Chand Raat celenbration before Eid, which is a major Muslim holiday.

I have some exciting things coming up – next week, I’ll be flying to D.C. with one of the organizations I’m involved in, and the week after that, I have a conference in Chicago! It’s already getting difficult to keep on top of all my work, so doing all that in addition to my travels and other commitments is a little daunting! But I’m taking a page out of your book and focusing on the experiences. Just like you’re taking some time in Amsterdam to travel, see the world, and get lost in new places, I’ll be doing the same – even if the exact place where I am isn’t so new!

That’s all I’ve got right now! I miss you and I can’t wait to hear what you’ve been up to this past week!

Love and Liefs,
