2014 was an exciting year for me. It was the year I got into Oxford, the year I moved to England, and the year I finally saw Italy. It was the year I started two new websites, launched the new version of this blog, and achieved many other accomplishments and dreams, big and small. I said to Ken that if I had to give 2014 a title, it would be the Year of Dreams Coming True. Cheesy, but honest.
I wanted to think of a fun way to go through my year, but I already covered my sophomore year in words and pictures. So, what’s left?
Here’s 2014 by the numbers.
New countries visited: 2.
For spring break, my best friend and I went to Canada.
And in the summer, Ken and I crossed off my lifelong dream of going to Italy.
Countries lived in: 3. United States, England, and the Netherlands.
Overlooking Leiden, the Netherlands.
Terms survived: 2. Not always with equal amounts of enthusiasm.
Hair colors: 2. Red and blonde.
New skills learned: Many. Dress-making, jumper-knitting, embroidery, and quilting, to start. I also tried my hand at archery.
Knitting and reading on the sofa.
Now I have a fighting chance when the zombies come.
Websites started: 2. Our Spirits Our Voices, a collection of young women’s personal essays on faith; and Healthy+, a website on plus-sized health and fitness.
Celebrations had: New Year’s, Christmas, and many birthdays.
People kissed: Just one. (;
It’s been a wonderful year. Thank you for being there to experience it alongside me. Here’s to a wonderful 2015!
