Hi friends! This is the start of a new blog series called “Currently”, inspired by Danielle’s series from Sometimes Sweet. Because things tend to get hectic over here, every once in a while, I’ll share what I’m up to right now in my life, in different areas: reading, watching, listening to, et cetera. I like this idea because I hope it will give you a more complete look into my life and what I’m up to, especially when I’m busy with traveling or school.
Currently, I’m…
Living in // The Netherlands, staying with Ken and his family. I love coming here for my breaks because his family is so kind and welcoming to me, and it’s so nice to be able to spend time with Ken after many months apart.
Reading // Two books on blogging. The first is 365 Blog Topic Ideas: For The Lifestyle Blogger Who Has Nothing to Write About, by Dana Fox. It’s a collection of open-ended blog post ideas that can be adjusted based on your niche or interest. I like it because many of the prompts are open-ended enough to spawn more than one idea. I’ve been blogging more consistently now, and it’s always exciting for me to find new inspiration.
The other book is Blog, Inc.: Blogging for Passion, Profit, and to Create Community, by Joy Cho, on the blogging industry and how successful bloggers have gotten to where they are. It also has many chapters devoted to things like engaging with other bloggers, blog legalese, and how to turn your blog into a business. I’m really enjoying it, and it’s helped me start to sort out the legal aspects of my site.
Drinking // Raspberry Mint Tea. I gave up coffee for a few days, and this was my go-to instead.
Studying // I’m currently on Spring Break, so I’m not studying anything for school just yet. However, I’ve just started a new Bible study with She Reads Truth that I’m enjoying very much. What I like about SRT is that the daily Bible portions come with a reflective personal essay written by a female writer, so it’s a personal and literary experience, as well as a spiritual (and for me, academic) one.
Writing // I’ve been hard at work on this blog this week, writing several posts a day so that I have a nice buffer next term if school gets rough again. I’m really excited about the post that went up this week on Monday, How to Make a Study Plan for Finals. I love writing informational posts to help people, so I’m excited and happy to share it with all of you.
Watching // Ken and I have been watching the newest season of Modern Family in the evenings to relax and hang out after he gets back from work. It always makes me laugh!
Looking forward to // As much as I love being with Ken and his family, I’m also really excited to fly home to see my family soon. My confirmation is coming up and I can’t wait to share that with my family and other loved ones.
