I’m happy and excited to share that this blog has been growing recently. I am so grateful for all my new readers, so I thought I’d devote a few minutes to getting to know each other in today’s blog post. I’ll share a few facts about me, and then indulge in this fun little bloggers’ questionnaire that I found over at one of my favorite blogs, Heavens to Betsy. I’ve modified some of the questions that don’t apply to me (e.g. since I’ve never hosted a link up, I can’t talk about one), but otherwise, the credit goes to her original source! After that I would just love it if you shared some things about yourselves in the comments!
A little about me //
Name // Sara, pronounced Sah-ra (like Sahara without the ‘ha’).
Age // 21!
Nationality // Officially just Dutch, and culturally Dutch and American. I am planning on applying for dual citizenship soon!
Favorite food // Gouda. And mushrooms. And the tartufo chocolate truffle at the Tre Scalini in Rome, which I have only had once (once was enough to make it a permanent favorite)!
Favorite flavor of tea // Peppermint.
Favorite book // It’s impossible to choose, so I’ll say Pride and Prejudice (just thinking about my favorite parts makes me smile).
Favorite movie // The Prince of Egypt! I love the music, the beautiful animation, the story, everything.
Favorite TV shows // Either Parks and Recreation or The West Wing.
A little about the blog //
Favorite post to write //
Probably My Sophomore Year in Words and Pictures. I had a lot of fun going through my photos and walking down memory lane with that one!
Most frustrating photo shoot //
I get really awkward in front of a camera, so basically, any photo shoot is frustrating to me. I would say this one was the worst:
I had a hard time getting comfortable in front of the camera and we couldn’t find the right outfits or backgrounds to use!
Post I’m most proud of //
Probably Breadth: Thoughts on Being Big. I don’t think it’s the best thing I’ve ever written, but I put a lot of thought and effort into it and I really feel it came from the heart. The response from was also overwhelming and so heartfelt that I’ll never forget it.
Popular post I didn’t think would be a big deal //
While I did put a lot of thought into the above blog post, I never expected it to be as popular as it was. It was by far my most popular, most-shared post I’ve ever put on Facebook, and I really hadn’t expected that!
Post I was expecting to take off that didn’t //
I never write a blog post with the belief that it’s going to be popular, but I put an enormous amount of time and research into this Open Letter to American Girl, which got next to no feedback. That’s fine, though – I think sometimes things like that are meant to humble you.
The closest to Pinterest-famous I’ve ever gotten //
My ultimate guide to college organization has been shared 3900 times on Pinterest!
Weirdest search term to find my blog //
“Sawed in half.” What? This scares me.
Alright, now it’s your turn. I’d love to hear from some of my lovely readers! Please comment below with your name and one fun fact about you (or more!). I’d love to hear from you!
