Dear Shannon,
Your photos are beautiful! I’m glad you had such a nice spring break. I was at the gym yesterday when I saw a marathon televised on the screens on the wall, and I started missing Wellesley and Marathon Monday. I hope you have a great experience at Marathon Monday this year!
Spring in the Netherlands is so lovely. The joke is that it’s gray and it always rains, but it’s been sunny here almost every day since the beginning of March. Taylor came to visit me a few weeks ago and we had so much fun going to different cities and being tourists together. I’d speak to people in my American-accented English, then wish them a great day in fluent Dutch as I walked away. Once we were out of sight, Taylor and I would laugh at their reactions.
I’ve also been able to enjoy spring more because I’ve been waking up earlier. Because my new morning routine starts at 6 AM, I’ve been able to enjoy the sunrise almost every day, and spend the early morning walking through nature and enjoying the city and surrounding nature. I’ve been really motivated to have good morning routines lately, so I’ve started waking up earlier and earlier to get a head start on the day. I read and go to the gym, and practice my Indonesian vocabulary, as I’m taking Indonesian classes with Ken’s mom.
To my surprise, Ken is following suit! He stayed up reading last night, and this morning he did some push ups before going to work (he also told me with a smile that he refused to let me get better at Indonesian than him, so we’re going to start practicing together). I guess I’m rubbing off on him!
Work is also going really well; I’m really focusing on expanding my college site, College Compass, and it’s going great! I also started a new side-project called Sunrise With Sara, where I share a few moments from my mornings each day on Nextbeat. You can follow along here!
That’s all for now. I can’t wait to hear more about what’s going on in your life!
