My good friend has a boyfriend who has always wanted to own a bar. That’s his dream – the thing he’s always wanted but never managed.

“What’s your ‘bar’?” my friend asked me one day.

“Writing a novel,” I said. “I’ve wanted to for years, and I’ve tried over and over, but I’ve never gotten my act together enough to do it.”

Though novel-writing has eluded me, blogging has been going well for me recently. This month has been absolutely crazy for me, blog-wise. I made the decision to start posting three times a week, and with that (and some social media savvy) came a whole host of new readers, for whom I am so so grateful.

Sara laughedWelcome to my corner of the internet.

I love blogging, and I would love to keep blogging at the speed that I had been keeping up before. But lately, my “bar” has been nagging at me. If I can blog three times a week and learn to paint the nails on my right hand, surely I can write a novel, right?

Well, that’s what I’m going to find out.

This month, I’m taking a small step back from blogging so I can focus on creative writing. I will be posting every Friday for all of April, but I’m scaling back from three posts a week so I can chase my “bar.” This is my big dream, so I hope you will support me as I pursue it and try not to tear my hair out in the process.
