I love to be on my phone. It can do everything from messaging my friends (Facebook chat) to playing my favorite music (Spotify) to helping me pick up jogging (C25K). While seeing me on it may drive my mom crazy from time to time, there are just so many great apps to help me keep my life in order. There is also a myriad of really good apps to help college students; today, I’d like to share five of my favorites with you.
The rest of this post is available on my college site, College Compass. As of August 2016, all my college help posts and downloadable have been updated and moved there to help you navigate your college years! To read more about this decision, read my announcement.
I’ve never had a smartphone, so weirdly, I feel like my mom talking about what college was like pre-computers. haha! The itunesU one intrigues me the most–being out of college for two years now, I really like finding opportunities to keep getting education (without having the threat of exams and grades always looming).
iTunes U is actually also available online through your computer’s iTunes app, so you don’t need a smartphone! It’s totally free – I highly recommend it!
I’m no longer in college, but when I was I really got into the MyStudyLife app to help me keep track of when my assignments were due. When I was using it they only had a desktop application but that was over a year ago now so that may have changed.

Thanks so much for the tip, Marisa!
This is an awesome list! I have only heard of Itunes U and never thought about using it for supplemental info. Thanks for sharing 🙂 Your blog is beautiful btw.

Thank you so much Anna! I really appreciate the compliment! And yes, iTunes U is so great for supplemental learning, I just love it!
I need to get the pommodoro app and the white noise app! Thanks!
I hope they help you, Erika!

Ultimate Storm may be my favorite app! Let me know what you think! Thanks for commenting!
Whoa, those productivity apps! Looks like they will come in handy as I get to my paper writing this weekend! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
I’m not a college student but these all seem useful & I could probably use some still!
this post is really cool!
How about an app that allows you to countdown the days to the start or end of a semester or until your graduation day? http://www.CountUsDown.com/graduation
I’m a little sad that the first couple cost, because Carrot sounded really good, but no way would my parents let me buy it when “there’s already a good enough, free reminders app on your phone!” I use a similar white noise app, but it includes more types of sounds, including actual noise colors, rain, and of all things, Gregorian chants.
Hey, thanks a lot for sharing this !
